It’s a coming-of-age. Teens excitedly huddle on the bridge before their jump. Babies learn to swim. Mother’s seek relief through a crisp, cold river dip. Kids get pounded on their boogie boards in the shore break. Young men show off their Tacomas. Young women soak up the sun. Uncles fish the rocks. Aunties walk for shells. So many memories are made here.

These sketches are done outdoors, amidst the wind, rain, sun, & ever-changing, dramatic lighting here on beautiful Kauai. Spending time outdoors, practicing awareness, simply observing & studying my surroundings here is the reward for me. Large brush pens are intentionally used so that I cannot become too attached to painstakingly capturing details. I want to move freely & loose:)

Mailed flat in plastic sleeves with card stock front & back for protection. Unframed & unmatted.
